NFL-Chicago Bears Looking Toward Playoffs
The Chicago Bears were the first team to clinch the playoffs and first round bye, which is a good thing for them. It will help them with recovering from injuries, like Earl Bennett, who had been a huge option for Jay Cutler. Also, they can use that one week off to work on their playing and see what they did wrong against the Green Bay Packers. Lovie Smith began the game with all the starters and wanted to eliminate the Packers to go undefeated in the division, but unfortunately, they lose by a touchdown, ending the game 10-3, Packers. Hopefully, the Bears will come out to their first playoff game showing a championship caliber team. Right now, everything seems to be going fine for them, so they will be making their own path to the Super Bowl and if something unfortunate happens, they will be heading the wrong road.

MLB-Chicago Cubs Fill in First Base Position
Chicago Cubs met up with free agent Carlos Pena at the Winter Meetings and decided to sign him for a year, giving him 10 million dollars. Pena seemed pretty happy with the deal and even said that he was excited to play for the city of Chicago. He can see that we are hungry for a championship and claims that Cubs were his first team because of how much interest they showed to sign him. I am pretty excited him to see him in blue, white, and red, but this was not the best deal that Cubs could have made. Once again, they mess up a chance on someone like Jason Werth, but it's not as bad as the idiotic moves they made in the past. This deal will allow them to sign Pena for a longer period of time, but if he is a fluke, they won't be stuck with him. Overall this will be exciting to see a American League All-Star, Gold Glove first baseman and Silver Slugger Award winner on the Chicago Cubs.

NBA-Chicago Bulls Start of Season
The 9-7 Chicago Bulls have a pretty good start to their season. They are fourth in the Eastern Confrence and first in the central division. With Carlos Boozer back, they had lost their first game with him against the Orlando Magics, but with few more games, they will be able to get their team chemistry back. Even when the Bulls were without Boozer and Derrick Rose, they lost their game against the Denver Nuggets by a single point. The Nuggets coach, after the game, said the Bulls were the hardest team they faced and this is a good sign. Chicago will improve as the season goes on and will surely be a competition in the playoffs and maybe even have a chance the NBA Finals Trophy. Today, the Bulls will have thier second game against the Boston Celtics with Carlos Boozer and this will be a great rematch from the first round of the playoffs from last year.

NFL-Chicago Bears v.s. Maimi Dolphins
Yesterday, Chicago Bears had their first shutout win since 2006 against the banged up Maimi Doplhins. Maimi had lost their first string quarterback, Chad Henne and their second string, Chad Pennington, so Tyler Thigpen got his first NFL start since 2008. Brain Urlacher and the Bears defense had only allowed 187 total yards and only one third-down conversion. Maimi also lost their Pro Bowl reciever, Brandon Marshall to a hamstring injury and center Cory Procter. Jay Culer had no touchdowns, but Matt Forte had the only touchdown of the game, which finished the game 16-0, Bears.
